Hi everyone, Angus Pryor here, creator of The Dental Profit System, co-author of the Kindle crushing book, “The Better Business Book,” bringing you today’s countdown towards the 10 Worst Marketing Mistakes that Dentists Make.

Last time, in 10th place, was DIY marketing. Some of the worst marketing I’ve seen is when frankly, dentists haven’t been playing to their strengths. They’ve dabbled in things that they’re not good at, which is they’ve been doing marketing when they should’ve been doing dentistry. That’s 10th.

Well, we’ve all been there. I’ve just returned from a video shoot with a client, and I would say the mistake that we could’ve made but didn’t … The mistake that I see is not knowing who your ideal client is.

Now, in this particular video shoot for this client, actually, they got one of their clients to come in and use that ideal client in the video. And often what I see is that the dentists are kind of, “Well, look you know, everyone’s their ideal client, so we’ll just use anyone in our marketing,” and that is a real mistake.

If you try to be all things to all people. It’s not going to work. You’ll fail miserably. It’s better to identify who your top clients are, really focus on them, and then even those that sit outside there will, you know, they’ll come and be clients as well.

So, mistake number nine in this countdown is not understanding who your ideal client is. Otherwise, we’ll see you soon for mistake number eight. All right. See you guys.
